Mahela Jayawardene is a good technically correct batsman for Sri Lanka. He led from front and got into the record books by becoming the first Sri Lankan to score two centuries at the home of cricket in the first Test Match against England here at the Lord`s cricket ground. Mahela Jayawardene's debut came against India at Colombo, in a match that was made famous by Sri Lanka's run feast. Mahela Jayawardene too, partook of the revelry and made a handsome 66.

Jayawardene who went onto become the third Sri Lankan to make a hundred and a fifty in a Test against England.
