Mohammed Yousuf

 Full name         : Mohammad Yousuf

 Born                 : 27 August 1974, Lahore, Punjab

 Current age     : 32 years

Major teams    : Pakistan, ACC Asian XI, Bahawalpur, Lahore

 Batting style    : Right-hand bat

Bowling style   : Right Arm Medium

Mohammad Yousuf is an extremely hard hitting batsman who is renowned for his ability to score quick runs. He has scored an ODI fifty in just 23 balls and a century off 68 balls. Before his recent conversion to Islam in 2005, he was the only Christian player in the Pakistani squad. After his conversion he changed his name from Yousuf Youhana to Mohammad Yousuf.

A fantastic player of spin, he gathers his runs through composed strokeplay. Although prone to get run-out most times, he is very quick between the wickets, but it is judgement of these singles that he lacks.

In Tests he has scored a 27 ball fifty which is the third fastest by any player. But the beauty of his cricket is that though he is capable of playing the big shots, he prefers to score the majority of his runs in singles, thereby rotating the strike a lot. He finished 2003 and 2004 as the top runs scorer in the world in ODIs. In 2004 he had a brilliant series against Australia and an equally good series against England the following year. He has continued to be a very good player for Pakistan and has consistently contributed with the bat.
