Rahul Dravid has been one of the most reliable batsmen in the Indian team with his blend of technical proficiency and stylish strokes. His style of batting was once regarded as too slow for the one day game, but through sheer practice, innovative strokes and imaginative placing of the ball, he has transformed himself into an integral part of the team in the one-day internationals also. He was the batsman of the 1999 World Cup with two hundreds and the highest aggregate. Presently, he is the captain of the Indian side.

The most watertight batsman ever. This man is continously striving to get better in both forms of the game. He started his career with a bang. Scored 95 runs on debut at LORD'S. Had a forgettable One Day International debut.Against a string of failures,he fought his way into the Indian eleven. His historic innings at Chennai against Pakistan in the Independence Cup and his 148 in South Africa bear testimony to his tremendous temperament.

He was found unfit for the One day game for some time. He returned to the side in New zealand ending up with an undefeated century. He went to the World Cup in England and returned as the top scorer of the tournament.A new aggressive approach to his batting has made him a much better player. He had a forgettable tour of Australia but has roared back to form with a string of centuries at home and away.

Rahul Dravid has scored 23 centuries, out of which five of them are double centuries. With over hundred test matches to his credit, Rahul Dravid's batting average is staggeringly close to 60. Presently, Rahul Dravid is putting his cool head to a good use as the captain of the Indian team.
