His style of batting was once regarded as too slow for the one day game, but through sheer practice, innovative strokes and imaginative placing of the ball, he has transformed himself into an integral part of the team in the one-day internationals also. He was the batsman of the 1999 World Cup with two hundreds and the highest aggregate. Presently, he is the captain of the Indian side. The most watertight batsman ever. This man is continously striving to get better in both forms of the game. He started his career with a bang. Scored 95 runs on debut at LORD'S. Had a forgettable One Day International debut.Against a string of failures,he fought his way into the Indian eleven. He had a forgettable tour of Australia but has roared back to form with a string of centuries at home and away. Rahul Dravid has scored 23 centuries, out of which five of them are double centuries. With over hundred test matches to his credit, Rahul Dravid's batting average is staggeringly close to 60. Presently, Rahul Dravid is putting his cool head to a good use as the captain of the Indian team.
